Perfect Steak

The internet is full of how to videos or advice when it comes to steak so I figured I might aswell join in 🙂

Ingredients

Steak of Choice (I go with Scotch Fillet)

2 Tbspn Olive Oil

2 Cloves Garlic (Slightly Crushed or chopped)

50g Butter

Salt and Black Pepper

Instructions

1. Remove the steak from the fridge 20 to 30 minutes before you cook it so it can come up to room temp.

2. Give each side a generous sprinkling of salt and pepper

3. Get your frying pan hot, once it is really hot then add your oil

4. Place your steak in the hot oil, lay it away from yourself.

5. Allow to cook for 1 minute then turn and cook for another minute, this will sear the steak.

6. Once both sides are seared move the steak to away from the middle of the pan so you have some room, as you can see I squeezed in a couple of sausages so room is not an issue, with some room place your butter and garlic into the pan, tilt the pan, once the butter and garlic is melted and combined use a spoon and keep basting it over the steak, turn the steak every minute until cooked…. I like my steak medium so as a rule of thumb the steak I get is always around and inch to and inch and a half thick so I cook each side for about 4 to 5 minutes.

7. Once cooked let the steak sit and rest for 8 minutes, place on a plate and put a piece of alfoil over it.
